Malta

The first stop on our MSC Cruise was Malta and I truly wish that I had more than eight hours to spend here. The first decision was to make a choice between exploring Valletta, Mdina or the Blue Lagoon on Comino Island. One of these choices would also require catching multiple boats and careful timing to make sure we got back to the big boat on time but would also involve the opportunity to swim in the Mediterranean Sea in dreamy colored water.

I choose to go to the Blue Lagoon (had to compare it to the Blue Lagoon in Iceland so this was purely research) :)

Getting there:

Walk from the MSC ferry port to the Valletta fast ferry to Gozo port. Enroute take a mini detour and stop by and Barrakka park and garden.

Once at Gozo hop on a charter boat to go to the Blue Lagoon - it is easy to spot because there will be long lines in the summer.

Once there:

Find a spot to stash your stuff and swim to your heart desire. The only downside to this place is that it is super crowded! The water was beautiful and I do wish I had more time to float around.

Going back:

Go ahead and do the same thing in reverse - charter boat to fast ferry to walking back to the Cruise Port.
